The Northern Region, in partnership with Up and Under, is a vibrant hub for the development of female youth rugby in Cape Town's northern suburbs. This partnership plays a key role in growing the game by providing structured player development pathways and creating opportunities for schoolgirls to compete and excel. Through a carefully designed system of coaching, skills clinics, and talent identification, young athletes are supported from grassroots level all the way through to regional team selection.

A major highlight of the region's work is the Northern Region High School League for Girls, proudly featuring 13 participating schools. This, first of it's kind girls rugby schools league offers regular, meaningful match experience for players at U16 and U18 levels, developing players through game understanding, and also promoting school pride. The league also serves as a platform for identifying standout talent, with top performers being selected to represent the Northern Region in provincial pathways under Western Province Rugby Football Union (WPRFU).

Together, the Northern Region and Up and Under are committed to building a strong foundation for female rugby, ensuring that young players have every opportunity to succeed both on and off the field.
